Lighting Design for Children's Well-being: Translating Research into Practice

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Explain how classroom lighting affects children’s well-being, including its influence on sensory comfort, attention, and emotional regulation.
2. Identify key lighting design principles that support diverse learning needs, with particular attention to neurodiverse students.
3. Analyze current research linking lighting conditions to student performance and well-being outcomes.
4. Evaluate lighting strategies and technologies through the lens of evidence-based design.
5. Apply research findings to develop practical, child-centered lighting solutions for educational environments.
6. Assess the effectiveness of proposed lighting designs in promoting comfort, engagement, and inclusivity in classroom settings.
